Shades of Teevra Madhyam

Shades of Teevra Madhyam

Totally different theme! We will take a look at the note that bridges two halves of the octave. Come to think of it, Sa Re Ga Ma and Pa Dha Ni Sa are exactly similar, if you make Pa as your Sa. The Teevra Madhyam acts as the bridge.

So let us check out shades of Teevra Madhyam

We will do so by taking three Raags. Nand, Hameer and Kedar. First two have glimpses; third one has treats Teevra Madhyam as full-fledged citizen.

Of course, Nand means famous Mera Saya song, Hameer means great Naushad-saab and one-and-only Rafi singing… you know what. Kedar has several signature songs, we will listen to a couple.

And to make this complete, we have Kumarji’s Rajan Ab To Aaja, an out-of-the-world recording of Pandit Kashinath Bodas and Veenatai, finally Ustad Radhid Khan singing one of the most famous Kedar compositions.

This program will be available till August 22nd, 7x24, on ePrasaran.com. Click on https://eprasaran.com/, then click on “Sangeet Sudha” from Hindi section, and then press the triangular “Play” button.
